OUR MISSION The
North Carolina Society of Historians is a non-profit organization
dedicated to the purpose of discovering and presenting information
regarding the history of North Carolina or any of it's subdivisions;
to promote the teaching of North Carolina history at all levels; to
encourage the researching, writing, preserving and perpetuating of
North Carolina histories and biographies via the presentation of
awards for excellence in those fields; and, to encourage, strengthen
and support county and local historical, genealogical and preservation
societies. Purposes
and Objectives of the North Carolina Society of Historians, inc Our
newsletter, FROM THE QUILL, keeps members informed of society
activities as well as promoting the accomplishments and projects of
its members. It encourages the exchange of information; and, it
provides interesting articles relating to general history, genealogy
and preservation. Members will receive issues as volunteer time is
available.

BECOMING A MEMBER We
now have an open membership. Anyone wishing to join our
society is encouraged to fill out and submit the membership
application and mail it, along with a check or money order reflecting
the membership category desired, to:

Fees are as follows: Single
- $12 per year Family
- $15 per year Society
/ Association/Business - $15 per year Senior
(over 65) - $10 per year Student
- $10 per year Lifetime
- $500 Please
note that awards are never restricted to society members. Membership
is NOT mandatory. Your membership in our organization, though, will
indicate your approval of our efforts and also provide valuable
